Going Back to the Office: Embracing "Kick-Ass!"

Linkedin recently published 20 Big Ideas that will shape the world in 2021. One of those ideas was that in order for people to go back to the physical workplace, those places need to be "kick-ass"! - We believe that they need to be safe too, but Kick-Ass gets me motivated.

They interviewed Brittney Van Matre Nike's director of workplace strategy and operations and she had the following to say:

"...companies would be wise to entice people with either “a kickass headquarters with a lot of amenities and a super slick experience” or “a really unique experience that you can’t get anywhere else.” Van Matre suggests companies may want to consider setting up outposts in unconventional locales, like rural, scenic areas more associated with leisure, creating “a reprieve” employees can gravitate towards."

The future of place was already increasingly experiential. The pandemic has only accelerated and highlighted that trend. As we move more and more online and work, play and communicate from anywhere, to physically go somewhere means there's a quality of that place that is attractive for some reason. In other words, it needs to be a "kick-ass" place if I'm going to take the time and effort to go there.

That's the future.
