Super Green National Park Education Center

Located on the edge of the San Francisco Bay within the Presidio National Park, the new Crissy Field Center became one of the highest-rated LEEDap Platinum projects. This multi-use center was conceived, installed, and ready to occupy in under nine months. This facility included classrooms, a science lab, a highly-rated cafe, solar power, and wind power. It provides a nationally recognized model of sustainability, healthy education, and environmental stewardship.

PROJECT:

CHALLENGE: Create a bespoke, light-on-the-land solution that is environmentally friendly and quick to deploy that supports educational STEAM programs in a spectacular, natural, and sustainable U.S. National Park. 
APPROACH: Through strategic architecture planning, design a sustainable and easy-to-build multi-use center facility that included classrooms, a science lab, a highly-rated cafe, solar power, and wind power. 
RESULT: It was intended to serve needs for five years but remains fully functional and well-loved 12 years later. It's connected with current Crissy Field renovations.
AWARDS: LEEP Platinum Certification.
